These are some of the songs I had problems with: Eventually, you get the menu (“end song”, “quit”, “resume”, etc)
I got it on release, but soon discovered my PS2 wouldn’t play the game like it should.īriefly put, some of the tracks exhibited these problems after playing for some time (ranging from 30 seconds into the song to near the end): I pre-ordered SingStar Rocks from online retailer BlahDVD. Hopefully this can make it easier for Sony or someone else to figure out the cause of this problem.
Please list the model number orf and serial number of your PS2 if you want to – I’ll add them to this page (see mine at the bottom). If you have had similar problems, I’d appreciate it if you would leave a comment at the bottom of this page. My conclusion is that the cause is a technical problem with some of the SingStar Rocks! discs now in circulation, and that Sony should give us an explaination and replacement discs that actually work in our PS2s. Please fix that.I describe the problems I have had playing SingStar Rocks! on my otherwise perfectly functional PS2. If you read the Blog content, the resounding theme is: You are failing us. Preferably top 10s from the US in the last 5 years.
It may be necessary to update your selection to include a higher percentage of current hits. And working harder to include more relevant content. Using feedback from the people they are selling this game to to create a more complete experience. They missed the mark by miles… but that doesn’t mean that another company isn’t coming with a better version, using the same pitch idea to build a similar game to yours. You want feet in the US? Buy a pair of Shoes to walk that path. You can imagine it’s a little different here, and it might pay to have an expert. Perhaps you can get a team together to handle the US marketing and research. Both in the US and in Europe, there are many common ideals for the future of this game. Listen to the Community, and provide what is being asked. It’s frustrating to see a Brand New Singstore update!!!! With no sings of interest. There are thousands of US songs that never went big in Europe, that would be awesome to have available in this game. Is it too much to ask for some uniformity? This one world crap is BS, when it doesn’t work in favor of you personally. We cant buy the disc they are on, since it will not work in the US PS3, and they are not available in the Singstore for US purchase. and US players do not have access to these songs. These are songs whose popularity began in the US, and then went Euro. There are American songs available to Europe that we can not get over here. 80% of the content released is aimed at the home of Singstar, the European fans of the game. If you are not IN THE US, then keep your condescending attitude to yourself.
wouldn't those two factors be largely based on the people who want to sing them? Why not open an input module on Singstar online? Why not ask the community what songs they want to have included? It would seem that getting that kind of input would be overwhelming for a group that thinks they have a perfect set up.Īs far as people posting here telling US posters not to whine, or complain, that there are going to be complainers no matter what Singstar does. They list some factors as “how hard it is to sing”, and how “fun”. So where are they now? Where are the interviews with the developers explaining why there have been no responses to the complaints being repeated across the message boards? Why have they included the 'community' aspect into the game, and excluded the community in the development of the song list? Their blogs indicate that there are many factors that go into getting the songs to the game. They were so proud of their game and the movement behind it. You can read countless interviews where they discuss their awareness of the direction, and their intent to capitalize on the momentum.
The developers were greatly aware of this. This has developed from a party game to a community game. The quality of production, and the performance of the development group as a whole is disturbingly lacking.
